Loved this article about American Idol losing the sought-after 18-34 demographic. The average viewer age is now a whithering 42. In my heart, I know I’m still a good person, but the networks stopped loving me 4 years ago when I turned 35. Now I’m good for nothing, save Polident and Levitra commercials.

On a different tangent, I liked this quote by some young buck (16 years old) about the show:

“It’s completely repetitive,” Will said. “It’s the same thing as the year before.”

…Yes, it is. And it’s the same thing as decades before. Like Solid Gold in the ’80s, The Gong Show in the ’70s, and probably countless other talent shows dating back to the dawn of television. Only a 16-year-old would find this fact surprising, I suppose.

After returning from Interop Las Vegas last week and doing my customary mega-load of laundry, I discovered that my 2GB Memorex Traveldrive flash memory stick went through the washer and dryer — it was hidden in the pocket of some pants. I thought for sure the thing was going to be useless after being submerged in water and tossed around in high heat for 60 minutes, but lo and behold, it still works!  Granted, it had a little protective plastic cap over the part that inserts into the computer, but I didn’t think the thing had a prayer.  Way to go, Memorex.
